Revolving black ball Summer League Week 12 Report

GROUP A Rileys A extended their lead at the top of this group to 9 points after they ran out convincing 8-0 victors over the Rickerscote C. The Tap and Spile edged into 2nd place with a 7-1 success at the Bear and Pheasant and look to cement their place in the quarter finals of the main draw. The Staffs Bull B improved their chances of qualifying for the Summer plate after defeating Rileys Cue Ts 5-3.

GROUP B Rileys Cue became the first team to qualify for the main draw. The 2007 holders extended their unbeaten run to 47 matches but were made to work hard for their 5-3 win at the Rickerscote B. 2nd place is still up for grabs with both Bushes A and St. Georges A fighting it out. Bushes A recorded a 5-3 success at Rileys while the St. Georges A returned from St. Leonards with a 6-2 win.

GROUP C Bushes B have virtually guaranteed their qualification for the main draw. The 2006 winners retain their unbeaten tag with a hard fought 5-3 success over the Albion B. 2nd place looks like going down to the wire with both Rileys C and Rickerscote A on the same points but the former have a better head to head record. The Ricky A ran out 7-1 winners at the Highfields and the Rileys C won 5-3 at the Luckpenny.

GROUP D This group is a 3 horse race vying for 2 places in the main draw. Holding pole position is the Three Tuns who lead by 3 points over the Tap A who themselves are 6 points ahead of the Hop Pole C, (who have a game in hand). Each of these teams recorded 7-1 victories over the Albion A, Hop Pole A and Oxleathers respectively. The Nags Head hopes were dented after they were held to a 4-4 draw at the Metro Bar.
