Stafford Sunday Pool League

Doubles Knockout Finals Night 

 Played on Sunday 14th October 2018

Held at Kennys Sportsbar 

Congratulations to both Dave Barker and Mike Barker on becoming the Sunday Pool League Doubles Champions for the 3rd time. 

The Kennys Cue pair had to overcome a spirited performance by Chris Broomhall & Lee Haidarovic (both Kennys Islanders) in the final winning 4-3. 

The Barkers came away with an impressive 3-0 win over Dave Whitfield (The Kennys Cue) & Rob Wharne (Institute Jaffas) in their semi. 

Broomhall & Haidarovic saw off the challenge of Liam Collins (The Kennys Cue) & Chris Hughes (Institute Jaffas) winning 3-1 in their semi.

KENNYS BEAR 4-3 Oxleathers A

played @Metro Bar on 6/05/18 

Wins for Giles Eastwood and Andrew Rawlinson (both 2 each) saw the Bear through to the Final of the Stan Bent Team Knockout. They had to come back from 3-2 down to beat the Oxleathers A. Darren Willetts (2 wins) and Kev Lewis pushed the Bear all the way. 

STAR & GARTER 4-2 Princess Royal B

Star & Garter A reached their first major final after overcoming a determined Princess Royal B side in the semi final. Wins for Chris Hughes (2), Liam Collins & Saul Perry saw the Star progress. Both Alby Brown and Gaz Hughes replied for the Princess.

THE KENNYS CUE 4-1 Red Rum

played @Star & Garter on 6/05/18

The Kennys Cue (winners 2012/13) were made to work hard for their 4-1 win against 3rd division Red Rum. Martin Priestley (2), Dave & Mike Barker were the victors for the Cuemen. Ant Doughty was the sole winner for the Rum. 

KENNYS ISLANDERS 4-2 Metro Bar A

played @Princess Royal on 27/05/18

The Islanders made up for a disappointing league campaign by reaching the Final after a fine 4-2 win over the Met Bar A. Wins for Chris Broomhall, Sean Timmis, Alan Alldritt & Lee Haidarovic saw them through. Paul Shepherd and Roy Brown were the sole winners for the Met.

SUMMER LEAGUE 2018

All NEW & CURRENT Pool Teams are invited to enter the forthcoming Summer League 2018.

The Format will be determined by how many teams enter. Groups will be mixed with all 1st, 2nd, 3rd Division & New teams drawn into groups.

1st division teams will be seeded separately in each group.

There will be TWO Competitions –

The Main Team Knockout & Summer Plate.

Tt beize 9-9 Stafford 

Staffords 1st fixture in the interleague saw them travel to hanley duck who

Boasted no fewer than 2 debutants and the new kid on the block Jake Cooper and bearing in mind also Pete ' I'm working ' Sandhar returned to the fold 

Stafford started well with Irene wood winning well to take the lead but Pete Sandhar couldn't follow suit and scores were level mason was up next and wasn't at his best at all but managed to gain victory and 2-1 To the staffordians 

Unfortunately that was that for a while loses for 

Addison, Shaw, broomhall & loughead saw the score swing in favour of the stoke team 5-2 time to bring on the new blood and Mitchell and cooper sealed victory 

H/T 5-4 to TT 

underway 2nd half mason in again but still looking like he hadn't played before managed to lose as well as Irene wood who was unlucky not to win 

 but on the other table the old stalwart Mick addison was doing the bizz 7-5 TT 

new player Matty Simpson and Jake Cooper were next to go and undefied there age competently securing the victory with Simpson most impressive 7-7 

Mitchell and Shaw on next but unfortunately Shaw broke and didn't see the table again and Mitchell followed suit 

9-7 TT 

So back to the old faithful and boy did they deliver loughead playing some great shots to pull of a victory and broomhall with the shot of the night such a delicate swerve to pot the black .

Final result 9-9

STAFFORD 9-9 LEEK B

Stafford welcomed leek to kennys sportsbar for there 2nd Interleague game of the current season and got off to the worse possible start losing the first 2 games through wood and cooper 

Next up the new kid on the block Simpson to make the score 1-2

 next up was Shaw and Addison and it didn't get any better 1-4 in favour of  the leek side disaster loomed but old favourite broomhall and captain mason won there frames to make it 3-4 game on next in was Mitchell and loughead 3-6 down 

Mason bought the changes in and was delighted with the subs desire and also team spirit where other players could of dropped there heads and moaned a bit  Sunderland and jenkinson both won well followed by Simpson to win and keep his 100% strike rate going 6-6 

Time to take the game the next 2 games were played perfectly by both Shaw and Whitfield but an uncharacteristic miss on the black and a mis cue saw both players snatch defeat from the jaws of victory 6-8 next up the gruesome twosome and again they deliver mason and broomhall with the wins and broomhall with the shot of the night on the black 8-8 

On next Mitchell who was unlucky to go in off with 2 shots and the game at his mercy 8-9 

Repeat of last week and up to loughead to get the draw and he delivered again a solid frame and some nice touches to win the frame 9-9
